Green & Environment

Innerhaven is located in the picturesque valley of the river leithen, which is classed as a conservation area. As we are spoiled with the beauty of this area it is important that we take care of our local environment. It is therefore in our interest to follow a set of guidelines which we prepared for ourselves and hope that our guests will help us too with working towards protecting the environment.

1. We make every effort to recycle our waste including plastics, glass bottles, cardboard, paper and clothing.

2.We also try our best to buy fresh produce to avoid waste through packaging.

3. We use energy efficient low light bulbs wherever necessary.

4. We aim to buy our produce locally and to support our local suppliers.

5. We will encourage our guests to help us stay green.

You can help support us in meeting our aims by:

1. Supporting local business and buying locally.  It helps safeguard the supply of quality produce from Borders’s suppliers.

2. Making sure that lights are switched off when they are not being used.

3. At night keep the curtains closed to prevent heat from escaping.  This will keep the room nice and cosy!

4. Turning off the TV at night.  Having it on standby wastes energy.

5. Keep doors closed to keep the rooms nice and warm.

6. Recycle what you can and use the system we have set up for guests.

If there is anything else we can do to improve our policy on the environment please do let us know.
